You can still place the flag on a mapmodel using /newent. You can put it absolutely anywhere you want on the map (or even off the map!)
(What I mean by that is, you can use /newent to specify the flag's height above the ground).

Hmm, I tried that... Must have done something wrong then... Confused

EDIT:
Re-tried it again Zarj, but to no avail. There's no option to have the entity elevated. It will always be on a cube.

I did this:

/newent ctf-flag 1 6

The "1" indicates it is a RVSF flag, and the "6" is supposed to be the number for how many cubes the entity will be above the ground.

Yeap... I can't believe I haven't thought of that way... I already knew that the same thing applies for mapmodels.

you knows that you can uses heightfield to modify the flag height?

Place flag on the normal height, then change the solid floor to heightfield, then lower it down.

Only works if you have mostly non-heightfield map
